NOTICES OF LOSS AND WORDS ON REEVES

The unforgettable EMMANUELLE RIVA died in Paris on Friday, January 27.  She is always remembered for Hiroshima, mon amour.  My own favorite is Amour.  She was 89.  She is yet to be seen in two unreleased films.

Fans of animator TYRUS WONG, who die s on December 30, will be pleased to note that his death was reported on the front page of the New York Times (1/1/17).  He was 106.  In the Arts Section of the Times for 1/7/17 there is a delightful, informative article appropriately titled, “How ‘Bambi’ Got Its  Look.”

In the current issue of Time (2/13/17), Sam Lansky writes some perceptive words in appreciation of Keanu Reeves, the work and the man.  (“Keanu Reeves’ Contract Killer with Feelings Returns,” p. 49.)
